Rules

  • KIDS MUST HAVE FUN
  • We are all here for the KIDS!
  • Everything that is done, is done to benefit the Children first.
  • All player play at least 50% of game
  • All player must have shin guards, ball and water bottles for games as well as practices.
  • Ball Sizes: Size 3 for ages groups U5 and U6. Size 4 for age groups U8, U10, U12. Size 5 for U14 and up.
  • No watches, jewelry or ear rings of any type maybe worn.
  • It IS recommended that league issued uniforms be worn during a game. All uniforms shirts must be worn tucked in and sock colors must show at all times.
  • NO BASEBALL CLEATS maybe worn. Soccer cleats or tennis shoes only!
  • No coaching from side lines, especially parent sides or goal ends. Only positive encouragement is allowed by parents and/or coaches.
  • If a team does not have enough players to start a game, even-up soccer shall be played whether that requires players from one team exchanging sides or reduced amount by advantaged team. All games will be played by those who showed up.
  • Scores are not kept. League standings are not kept. Coach your players in this aspect.
  • Good Sportsmanship is expected to be shown by all coaches as an example to your players. You are in charge and how you act or let parents act, will determine how your players act. DO IT WELL!
  • All player with an open wound shall be removed from a game immediately. Parents must administer first aid.
  • Red cards maybe given to players, coaches or spectators by a referees. Ejection is for present game only. Play shall stop until individual is escorted off fields. Field Marshal must fill out report for board review.
  • When ever fields are open, an B.G.S.C. board member will be there as acting Field Marshal. All problems should be addressed to that person.

Coaches Page

There are a variety of coaching needs in the club. It can be the parent dedicating time for a recreational team, or an experienced coach improving the talents in an older age team. Whatever the level, the main emphasis of the club is player development. With that in mind, good coaches are always welcome and needed in the community.

Continually improving the level of our volunteer coaching is an important the goal of the Beech Grove Soccer Club. Coaching clinics, courses, and other opportunities are important in developing the best possible coaching for our players.

Refs

The Club is interested in developing referees as well as players. Refereeing is a great way to advance your enjoyment of the game. Players can gain a diferent perspective of the game, develop a better knowledge of the game, and earn a few bucks as well.

The club offers young referees an opportunity to gain on field experience in club matches. We also promote any referee training opportunities avaiable. The Club has established a young referee sponsorship program to assist a with the costs of becoming a licenced referee. Drop us an email and check the IYSA referree page for referee course updates.

The BGSC's goal is to provide the best competitive environment for players who love soccer and want to excel at the sport. Teams play in competitive leagues requiring travel and typically compete in post season tournaments.

What age group do I play in?

BGSC is non-profit organization and is operated solely by volunteers. Please consider helping us out by lining the fields, set-up and or clean-up on game days, work a shift at the concession stand (no children please), etc. Please contact our President, Nikki Shearer or one of our board members if you can help out in any way or have a suggestion that will benefit our club. Please be respectful of the property by throwing away your trash in the trash receptacles provided.

We would like to remind you of some important items:

ABSOLUTELY NO PLAYING IN THE CREEK, IN THE WOODS OR ON THE BRIDGE.

Practices/Games- Please do your best to be on time. A parent or guardian must remain at the fields during all practices and games.

Uniforms- your child will not receive their uniform until the registration fee has been paid in full.

No Jewelry

Zero Tolerance

Lightning and Field Closure-In the event of bad weather, your coach will attempt to contact you if practice is cancelled with as much advance notice as possible.
